Software Engineer, Senior

Opportunity

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead and support Agile design, development, integration, and deployment of mission‑management software for heterogeneous, proliferated satellite constellations. The role requires defining system architecture, optimizing the orchestration of multiple Space Capability Stacks, and delivering mission planning, automated tasking, deconfliction, replanning, and other backlog items. Solutions must integrate seamlessly with existing operational environments while maintaining a modular, scalable architecture for future enhancements. Work will be performed in high‑security, classified cloud‑based environments, ensuring development and deployment pipelines meet rigorous security and performance standards.

Responsibilities

Lead a software team in high‑velocity Agile development of mission‑planning capabilities, ensure seamless integration with operational environments, maintain modular and scalable architecture, and support classified system integration within accredited SCIF/SAPF facilities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Experience as a technical lead and software engineering leader for complex mission software
• Experience with software architecture for distributed, mission‑critical applications
• Proficiency with Agile methodologies, version control (Git), relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL), Python, AWS, and Kubernetes
• Ability to work onsite at an accredited SCIF/SAPF to support classified system integration
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mission management or OPIR systems
• Experience as a cost account manager for a team of 10+ engineers
• Experience integrating software across teams and external partners
• Experience with container lifecycle management, image optimization, and orchestration using Docker and Podman
• Experience deploying and managing cloud applications in secure, classified environments, including security categorizations and infrastructure automation
• Knowledge of DCO‑S concepts and implementation
• Understanding of DevSecOps principles, automated CI/CD pipelines, and cybersecurity hardening for High/Moderate impact systems
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission requirements
• DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., CISSP or Security+)

Compensation

Projected annual salary range: $86,900 – $198,000 (USD). Salary is determined by location, education, experience, and other factors.
