Software Engineer, Senior

About the role

As a back-end developer, you know that a good site or system needs the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to develop a user-focused solution. We’re looking for an experienced back-end developer with the software engineering skills it takes to identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and create efficient and effective systems for our clients. As a back-end developer at Booz Allen, you’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver solutions. Using your software engineering experience, you’ll work with the development team to create custom tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance and scalability. Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and support agile software development to modernize systems
• Develop and maintain technology powering user-facing components of enterprise applications
• Design and implement data storage solutions
• Run performance testing and benchmarking
• Optimize data performance
• Create solutions to complex problems independently or within a collaborative, cross-functional team

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting agile software development to modernize systems
• 5+ years of experience in software development using basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks
• Experience with Elastic, Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, and software products
• Experience developing and maintaining databases, conceptualizing and implementing data storage solutions
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science field and 14+ years of experience with software engineering in a Linux environment, or 18+ years of experience with software engineering in a Linux environment in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have

• Experience with Java, JavaScript, SQL, Python, Server-Side Development, Middleware, Application or Data Integration, API Development, Core Application Systems, Node.js, Groovy, Scala, NiFi, Spring Cloud, Spring Core, or Spring Data
• Experience writing source code for new applications and generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications
• Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
• Knowledge of mobile applications
• Knowledge of DevOps, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.
