Software Engineer – Python / Django

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer specializing in Python and Django to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications and backend services that support our enterprise objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 5–7 years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Django or equivalent Python web frameworks (e.g., Flask, FastAPI)
• Strong proficiency in Python programming
• Experience with Git and enterprise source control practices
• Relational database experience, preferably with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of application architecture, security principles, and backend best practices
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman
• Familiarity with asynchronous task processing frameworks like Celery
• Exposure to observability and logging solutions such as Vector or similar tools

Additional Desirable Skills

• Automation and configuration management with Ansible
• Caching with Redis
• CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Concourse CI
• Basic frontend debugging with JavaScript

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using Python and Django or similar frameworks
• Participate in system architecture, design discussions, and technical decision-making processes
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services aligned with enterprise standards
• Collaborate with product management, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and efficient solution delivery
• Ensure high code quality through unit testing, peer reviews, and adherence to coding standards
• Manage source control using Git, following enterprise versioning and branching strategies
• Implement database schemas, optimize queries, and support relational database management
• Support automation, configuration, and deployment activities utilizing Ansible
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application and production issues promptly
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on routine projects
