About the role

You'll join the team that owns Amazon's core testing platforms and help set the direction for AI-native software development at scale. This role involves building and operating testing platforms and AI-driven testing capabilities, directly impacting tens of thousands of software engineers at Amazon.

Responsibilities

  • Quickly and reliably deliver high-quality technical solutions that delight customers.
  • Build and operate distributed systems at global scale, including serverless test orchestration, on-demand execution across every AWS region, and load testing platforms processing millions of transactions per day.
  • Demonstrate good taste in developer experience and tooling design through the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Partner with your manager and engineering leads to influence technical architecture and product roadmaps.
  • Meet with customers to learn and help them achieve their goals.
  • Set a high bar of technical and operational excellence, empowering colleagues to continuously meet and raise the bar.

About the team

In Programming Foundations, the Testing org builds and operates Amazon's foundational testing infrastructure for the AI Development Lifecycle. The team's platforms execute millions of tests per day across every AWS region, including on-demand test execution, serverless orchestration, and global-scale load testing. AI systems enhance these platforms by generating tests, diagnosing failures, and measuring evidence for shipping changes. The team's north star is a future where every team at Amazon has an AI-powered testing partner to help builders ship high-quality software fast.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $143,700 - $194,400 USD annually. Your package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits.
