Software Engineer, Proactive Capabilities

About the role

As a Software Engineer on the Proactive Capabilities team at Robinhood, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and scaling engineering tools that enhance security measures across the organization. This team focuses on leveraging advanced technologies to address significant financial security challenges. You will work in a collaborative environment that values high performance and ethical practices. The position requires in-person attendance at least three days a week in either Bellevue, WA or Menlo Park, CA.

Requirements

• Proven software engineering fundamentals and practical system design skills.
• Experience building scalable, reliable microservices and tools.
• Proficiency in Go or Python, with a preference for Go.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying services in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Solid foundational knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes concepts.
• Strong security domain context, including understanding the attacker lifecycle and application security concepts.
• A pragmatic, curious, and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale flexible, reliable security tooling and services.
• Design and deploy AI agents and security automation workflows.
• Partner cross-functionally with Security Engineering and Product Engineering teams.
• Participate in design and system reviews alongside Proactive Security initiatives.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain high availability and reliability for critical team security services.
