About the Team

The Carbon Platform Engineering team builds the cloud-native platforms that help engineering teams develop and run applications at enterprise scale. Our environment spans Kubernetes, cloud, edge, automation, virtualization, networking, and storage, giving engineers the opportunity to solve meaningful infrastructure challenges across a broad technology landscape.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you'll help build and evolve the Kubernetes platform capabilities that power applications across the enterprise. You'll combine software engineering, automation, and hands-on Kubernetes experience to improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer experience. You'll independently own work within your area while partnering with senior engineers and specialists on broader platform architecture and complex infrastructure challenges. This is an opportunity to deepen your cloud-native and platform engineering expertise while working with technologies such as Kubernetes, KubeVirt, Go, Python, Terraform, GitOps, and public cloud.

Your Impact

You'll help make enterprise infrastructure more automated, reliable, and easier for engineering teams to use. You'll have room to own meaningful platform work today while continuing to grow your expertise across Kubernetes, cloud-native engineering, virtualization, and large-scale infrastructure.

What You Will Do

  • Build, automate, and support Kubernetes platform capabilities across on-premises, edge, and cloud environments.
  • Develop automation and platform services using Go, Python, Shell, APIs, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Support Kubernetes provisioning, configuration, upgrades, scaling, and lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across Kubernetes, Linux, containers, and related infrastructure, partnering with specialists when issues span multiple domains.
  • Contribute to platform capabilities across virtualization, networking, storage, observability, security, and GitOps.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and help improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operational toil, increase automation, and make the platform easier for application teams to use.
  • Contribute to production readiness, incident response, root-cause analysis, documentation, and engineering best practices.
