Platform Engineer - Kubernetes

The Platform Engineer - Kubernetes role is responsible for developing and maintaining the application hosting infrastructure on Kubernetes within a cloud environment. This position is critical for ensuring a reliable, secure, and automated platform that supports core internal applications. The role directly contributes to the efficiency, security, and scalability of the company’s operations, enabling the delivery of impactful technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable infrastructure solutions for core applications.
• Implement infrastructure as code to automate processes.
• Monitor and optimize system performance and resource use.
• Integrate cloud services and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery.
• Ensure security compliance and collaborate on incident response.
• Support platform users and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Analyze and optimize cloud spending and resource usage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Crossplane.
• 5+ years experience with cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate certification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Practical experience with cloud security tools and practices.
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure costs.
• Demonstrated leadership in improving platform usability and performance.
• Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus.

Pay

Base salary range: $94,300—$149,200 USD. Alternate salary range for select locations (Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, San Francisco Bay Area CA, New York City Metro Area): $113,300—$179,200 USD. The role does not include variable compensation. Eligibility to participate in the company stock program. Company-matched 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings.
