About the role
The Platform org at Assembled is responsible for the core systems that power Assembled’s products end-to-end. This includes infrastructure, integrations, and data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Evolve the systems that run Assembled’s products at enterprise scale, covering areas such as container orchestration, observability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Build the integrations platform that ingests data from various customer systems, including CRMs, ticketing systems, knowledge bases, communication platforms, and AI model providers.
- Develop modern data foundations that transform raw product and integration data into reliable, queryable, derived datasets for metrics, reporting, analytics, and other product experiences.
- Design and implement real-time and analytical systems that support both low-latency operational workflows and heavy analytical workloads.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience involving backend, platform, or infrastructure systems.
- A passion for working on foundational problems that span infrastructure, data platforms, and integrations.
- An ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and enjoy defining system boundaries and trade-offs.
- A strong commitment to reliability, maintainability, performance, and empowering other engineers through your work.
- An interest in collaborating cross-functionally and understanding how platform work can unlock product and business impact.
- Familiarity with one or more parts of Assembled's stack, including cloud provider (AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes + Karpenter), datastores (Postgres + PgBouncer, Snowflake, Redis), and programming languages (Go and Python).
Qualifications
- Experience with cloud provider services, particularly AWS.
- Knowledge of container orchestration tools, specifically Kubernetes and Karpenter.
- Understanding of relational databases, such as Postgres and Snowflake.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Go and Python.

- Experience with data transformation and data warehousing technologies.
