This role is a project hire role for a duration of 24 months.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain full-stack internal and external-facing features spanning our Angular/TypeScript single-page application, our Java View Assembly Service (VAS) layer, and integrating with our back-end Java services, working comfortably across the entire stack.
- Implement features aligned to our solution approach, keeping the Angular SPA and VAS layer focused on presentation, orchestration, and view composition rather than core logic.
- Coordinate with and support team efforts to implement the majority of core business logic in the back-end Java services.
- Contribute to features across the full software development lifecycle — design, development, testing, code review, deployment, and technical documentation — with guidance from senior engineers on more complex or ambiguous work.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot issues across the stack, resolve defects, and assist with releases to maintain system reliability and uptime.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and engineering practices, and share relevant tools, patterns, and learnings with the team to support its ongoing engineering approach.
- Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) effectively to generate well-written, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage, and to accelerate debugging and code review, while applying sound engineering judgment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of software development experience as a full-stack engineer with strong UI, API, and cloud capabilities.
- Proficient with front end development languages and tools: Angular, TypeScript, Nx to manage the monorepo, Playwright for end-to-end testing, HTML and CSS.
- Demonstrated ability to develop with backend languages and tools: Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, CI/CD, REST APIs and experience with object Oriented programming concepts.
- Strong practitioner of engineering quality in work products: insisting on comprehensive UI/API testing (JUnit, Postman) coverage, strong debugging skills, experience supporting production readiness, and experience integrating with external teams.
- Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude to accelerate software development, debugging, test creation, code reviews, and documentation.
- Experience working in Agile teams alongside product managers, project managers, UX designers, and QA engineers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ideal candidate has exposure to AWS environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
