Software Engineer - Level 3/4

About the Role

Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking a Software Engineer - Level 3/4 to join a large team comprising multiple subsystems, each with a specialized software focus. In this role, you will develop and sustain several mission operational SW product lines, as well as develop new capabilities, providing innovative solutions to complex issues in support of our national security mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain mission operational software product lines
• Develop new capabilities for mission operational software
• Collaborate with a large team across multiple specialized subsystems
• Travel to Redondo Beach, CA for approximately 4 consecutive weeks for required training

Basic Qualifications

Software Engineer - Level 3:

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; PhD with 1 year of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Must have an active SCI at time of application OR an active TS clearance at time of application with the ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company prior to start date
• Advanced Object-Oriented programming skills
• Experience with C++ programming
• Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system

Software Engineer - Level 4:

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; PhD with 4 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Must have an active SCI at time of application OR an active TS clearance at time of application with the ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company prior to start date
• Advanced Object-Oriented programming skills
• Experience with C++ programming
• Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system

Preferred Qualifications

• DevSecOps Test Automation experience
• Experience with programming/scripting languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Perl
• Strong in math and algorithms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees, management, and stakeholders
• Previous participation on an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process
• Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
• Experience developing in a Linux environment using git
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
• Active TS/SCI security clearance

Pay

• Level 3 Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $171,000.00
• Level 4 Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $213,400.00
• Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay
• Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results
• Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives
