About the Role

A Software Engineer Lead specializing in mainframe COBOL development, responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining COBOL-based applications on mainframe systems. The role involves analyzing business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and ensuring the performance and stability of mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to standards.
• Stay current with emerging mainframe development trends and technologies.
• Lead technical design, propose solutions, and provide guidance to colleagues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency in IBM z/OS, AIX, Linux, Windows, COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and related tools.
• Experience with relational databases and API development is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of financial or insurance industries is advantageous.
