Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the program’s UI/UX Subject Matter Expert and trusted advisor to government stakeholders and project leadership.
- Lead the design and evaluation of user interfaces and user experiences for mission-critical software applications.
- Analyze user needs, mission workflows, and operational requirements to develop effective and intuitive solutions.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, interface designs, and interaction models.
- Establish and promote UI/UX best practices, design standards, and human-centered design methodologies across the program.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, developers, and other team members.
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure designs are effectively implemented and aligned with technical requirements.
- Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, testing, and continuous improvement activities.
- Interface directly with government customers and stakeholders to gather feedback, communicate recommendations, and present design solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, presentations, and other project artifacts required to support program objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance preferred. Candidates with an active Public Trust clearance or higher may be considered if eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience as permitted under contract requirements
- Collaborate with users to understand their task flow and job-to-be-done
- Use Figma to create and maintain user interface designs based on user needs
- Collaborate with developers to guide them in implementing user interfaces.
- Support usability and user acceptance testing activities
- Experience leading UI/UX design efforts for complex software applications.
- Experience applying user-centered design methodologies, usability principles, and human factors best practices.
- Experience creating user journeys, workflows, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and interface specifications.
- Experience collaborating with software engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to provide technical direction and guidance to junior engineers, designers, and development teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex assignments requiring initiative and sound judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports, design documentation, requirements analyses, and executive-level briefings.
Highly Desired Experience
- Practical experience working in Agile environments utilizing the Scrum framework.
- Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) certification.
- Understanding of secure application design principles and the impact of cybersecurity requirements on user experience and accessibility.
- Scrum certifications and demonstrated experience supporting Agile product development teams.
- Familiarity with cloud-based applications and modern software architectures.
- Experience establishing design standards, design systems, and UI/UX governance processes.
