Software Engineer, Internship - Defense Tech

About the role

A Defense Tech Software Engineer Intern at Palantir will contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir's Gotham product. You will support work focusing on delivering Palantir Defense capabilities to critical mission partners, working throughout the product lifecycle from idea generation to execution and shipping. You will be paired with a mentor dedicated to your growth and success, collaborating with technical and non-technical counterparts to understand and solve customer problems.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with mentors and peers to grow and succeed

Requirements

• Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools
• Active US Security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance prior to start of internship
• Experience coding in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Planning to graduate in 2028

Skills

• Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals, including engineers, users, and non-technical team members
• Willingness to learn and make decisions independently, and the ability to ask questions when needed
• Write clean, effective code and learn new languages quickly

Pay

The estimated salary range for this position is $10,500/month. Total compensation will be determined by individual qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of any benefits offered and the potential future value of any long-term incentives.

Schedule

Palantir encourages employees to work from their offices to foster connectivity and innovation. Many teams offer hybrid options (working from home a day or two a week), allowing employees to find the right balance for their personal productivity. If the posting is specified as Onsite, employees are required to work from an office. Some roles allow for Remote work on an exceptional basis.

• Must be planning on graduating in 2028
• Must have an active US Security clearance, or be eligible and willing to obtain one prior to start of internship
