Software Engineer Intern
About the role
We are looking for a Summer 2027 Software Engineer Intern to contribute to the enhancement of the NetBotz product line, a set of IoT devices for monitoring data centers. This device helps customers manage and secure their data centers and is part of our EcoStruxure family of products. You will join a team that maintains, develops, and tests a tech stack including Embedded Linux, C daemons, Java, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL. Your focus will be on expanding existing functionality, tackling customer issues, addressing security vulnerabilities, testing hardware and software, and reducing technical debt.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data within Microsoft Excel
- Create modifications to existing code under the direction of more senior engineers
- Learn and enhance the NetBotz environmental management system
- Test NetBotz systems and software
- Write automated tests and perform manual testing under the direction of more senior engineers
- Fix software defects
Requirements
- Rising Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related field
- Previous experience with Java, JavaScript, or C programming languages
- Experience with Linux and Git
- Ability to learn or previous experience with bash shell scripting
- Demonstrated understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, TCP/IP networking, etc.)
- Desire to learn software engineering and computer networking
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Focused curiosity
- Comfortable with basic hands-on hardware handling — opening chassis and swapping field-replaceable components as needed for test setup
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, ongoing basis without immigration sponsorship

Pay
The expected pay range for this U.S.-based position is USD $22.50–$27.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
