Software Engineer Intern (Ads Infrastructure) - 2027 Summer

About the role

Global Monetization Product and Technology teams are building the next-generation monetization platforms to help millions of customers grow their businesses, utilizing products like TikTok. Our team develops a wide variety of advertisements for numerous uses including feeds, live streaming, branding, measurement, targeting, search, vertical solutions, creative solutions, and business integrity.

Our internship program offers students hands-on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. Interns will gain practical experience, explore potential career paths, and participate in social events, learning programs, and development workshops alongside industry professionals.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of a large-scale Ads system.
• Responsible for the development of state-of-the-art software engineering projects.
• Own key targeting components or strategies in the TikTok ads monetization ecosystem.
• Work with product and business teams on product vision.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Go, C/C++, Python, and Java.
• Ability to think critically and to formulate solutions to problems in a clear and concise way.
• Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
• Very strong teamwork skills (e.g. communication, ownership, empathy, honesty).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the advertising, e-commerce or gaming industry.

Pay

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45–$60.

• Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
