About the role

The Backend Integration Engineer at GC AI will architect and build the data infrastructure that powers AI integrations for legal teams. This role involves designing and implementing systems like file ingestion pipelines, two-way sync engines, and document parsing workflows. You'll collaborate with the founding team and exceptional engineers to shape the platform's growth.

Responsibilities

• Arcitect and build our file processing backbone, from sophisticated upload systems to seamless two-way sync engines.
• Design and implement document parsing pipelines that transform raw files into AI-ready data.
• Shape the technical decisions that balance speed, security, and code quality as we scale.
• Collaborate with our team of exceptional engineers to push the boundaries of what's possible.

Why this role matters

This role is crucial for delivering reliable, secure connectors to legal systems, launching admin features, reducing integration breakage and latency, and helping build the leading legal AI platform for in-house teams.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and React.
• Track record of building API integrations with enterprise systems (Salesforce, Hubspot, SharePoint, Google Drive).
• Solid understanding of Postgres and database design.

Nice to have experience

• Experience with modern ORM systems like Drizzle or Prisma.
• Familiarity with iPaaS platforms (Paragon, Integration.dev, Airbyte).
• GCP knowledge.
• ElasticSearch experience.

Location Policy

This is a remote role unless you live within approximately 50 miles of our San Mateo, CA or Provo, UT office. The position follows a hybrid schedule with in-office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Compensation Range

$165K - $350K
