About the role

As a seasoned member of an agile team within the Consumer and Community Banking/Deposit team at JPMorganChase, you will design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will carry out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support the firm's business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation). Validate outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contribute learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to enhance the value realized by automation.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of performance and resilience engineering: caching, circuit breakers, retries with backoff, load/stress testing, concurrency, and connection management.
  • Understanding of DevOps and platform engineering: infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipeline design, artifact management, container security and scanning, and observability tooling.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS with emphasis on ECS, Lambda, VPC, subnets, security groups, IAM, Cloudwatch).
  • Experience building AI Agents using copilot and other tools.
  • Experience with Kafka and understanding of databases: relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
