About The Role
We’re looking for a full-time software engineer to join our team building best-in-class cyber security products. As a member of our growing team, you will help design and develop technology solutions that are scalable, meaningful, and critical to our company’s success. The ideal candidate will have a strong Linux background and be driven to pursue a career in enterprise application development. You will be working in an Agile environment, contributing with your ideas, code, testing, and planning skills.
Location: Hybrid – Salt Lake City, Utah. You’ll work on-site with your team several days each week (typically 2–3), with the specific days set by your manager. Because regular in-person collaboration is central to this job, we look for candidates who live within about 50 miles of the office. Everfox will consider reasonable accommodation as required by law.
Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with team members to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and deliver a scalable Linux-based container platform
- Remaining up to date on current best practices, trends, and industry developments and actively sharing that knowledge with other team members
- Verifying product features are thoroughly implemented, ensuring all requirements are met, using robust technical solutions and high-quality coding standards
Requirements
- BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security or equivalent work experience
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills
- Strong time management skills and able to take initiative and work independently on concurrent projects
- 4+ years of professional experience using container technologies to build, deploy, maintain, or administer containers in a production environment
- 3+ years of professional experience building, maintaining, or administering Kubernetes clusters in a production environment
- 5+ years of professional experience administering and/or developing applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including:
- Demonstrable coding/scripting experience in Bash
- A solid understanding and experience using the Linux command line and its associated tools and utilities
- A solid understanding of fundamental networking concepts
- Experience with server virtualization systems such as VMware ESXi/vSphere
- Experience with Ansible and familiarity with YAML and JSON
- Experience deploying applications to AWS and/or Azure in a production environment (compute, storage, networking, image creation, etc.)
- If needed, ability to pass a government background check
Nice to Have
- Experience with installation, administration, and configuration of Prometheus and Grafana
- Knowledgeable in Linux and application security best practices, SELinux, DISA STIG, etc.
- Experience with UI frameworks and technologies (HTML, JavaScript, REST APIs, React)
- Experience with CI/CD and configuration management tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory)
- Experience writing automated tests
- Experience using Git for version control
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience with Python and Golang
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $125,100.00–164,000.00 USD. The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidate's unique experience, locale, and business needs.
