About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to enhance capabilities of cyber products for security-conscious government & commercial customers. The role involves developing & testing new product capabilities, software development/build tools, software test infrastructure & operational support for cross-domain products.
Responsibilities
- Utilize your expertise in software development processes to guide the requirement definition, design and implementation of secure message gateways.
- Demonstrate competency working hands-on in Linux based environments.
- Develop new features and extensions to existing products using a variety of languages including Rust, C, C++, Java, and proprietary languages.
- Self-starter utilizing your Linux and scripting expertise to integrate new features and extensions into complex products.
- Leverage standard networking concepts to support the design and implementation of Cross Domain capabilities.
- Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.
- Provide technical briefings to customers and Everfox leadership as required.
Requirements
- BS Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Information Security or equivalent
- 8+ years’ experience in software engineering, system engineering or related disciplines
- Experience with software development in Linux environments using a variety of programming and scripting languages including Java, Python, Go, C/C++, and/or bash
- Hands-on experience implementing TCP/IP networking & related protocols (such as HTTP, SSH, IPSEC, TLS/SSL, etc)
- Robust understanding of private and public keys and or certificates
- Experience with version control technologies such as Git
- Red Hat Enterprise, Fedora or Ubuntu Linux operating systems
- Ability to obtain Government Security Clearance if needed
Education
Nice To Have:
- Direct experience with Link16, JREAP-C, TADIL-J, USMTF, VMF and related standards and protocols.
- Experience with security design and architecture of Cross Domain solutions (CDS).
- Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini or Open Code.
- Agile or Scrum development experience.
- Experience with deploying cloud technologies such as MS Azure or AWS.
- Experience with virtual desktop redisplay technologies such as RDP, Citrix Receiver or VMware Horizon View.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is: $125,100.00-164,000.00 USD
Schedule
Full Time, Monday – Friday (standard work schedule with flexibility for mission critical requirements).
