Software Engineer II - Space and RF Sensors (Onsite)

Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
Analyze and translate system requirements into detailed software specifications and designs.
Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.
Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance software quality and development practices.
Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
Work onsite in El Segundo, CA.
Qualifications You Must Have
- A typical requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of relevant software experience.
- Experience in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python or similar.
- Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
- Experience using version control tools like Git.
- Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance as and when required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Linux and/or real-time embedded systems such vxWorks or Integrity.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab and secure software development methodologies.
- Experience with unit test frameworks such as gTest/gMock.
- Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance.
- Familiarity with gRPC and Protobufs.
- Familiarity with Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
- Active U.S. government security clearance (if required for the role).
