About the Role

Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II to be part of their product development teams. You will support all aspects of a software development life cycle as a member of a multi-disciplined team, including new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements, to design, development, integration, test, and potentially subsequent maintenance tasking.

Responsibilities

  • Support software development life cycle activities for new and legacy military and commercial programs.
  • Provide creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.
  • Work closely with Systems Engineers to design solutions with end user and operational needs in mind.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in C++ design paradigms on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++.
  • Experience in computer scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional experience in coding using C, C#, Java, or closely related software languages.
  • Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (e.g., test benches, simulators).
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
  • Experience with product development utilizing Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
