Software Engineer II (React Native)
About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our Sweat & Lineups team. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality features and enhancements for our React Native mobile application, including functionalities such as My Entries, Early Payout, and Sweat experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in TypeScript and React Native, demonstrating the ability to work independently on feature development from conception to deployment.
You will contribute to technical design discussions, produce reliable and maintainable code, and ensure the overall quality of our mobile app used by millions of users. Qualifications
- 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in TypeScript and React Native development
- Experience with component-based architecture, state management, and navigation patterns
- Strong understanding of CSS/styled-components and responsive mobile layout design
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest and E2E testing tools like Maestro
- Experience with Git workflows and code review processes
- Knowledge of RESTful API consumption and data fetching patterns
- Self-driven with excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning and improvement
Responsibilities
- Deliver features independently by owning the implementation process from design through deployment with minimal guidance
- Write production-quality, maintainable, and well-tested TypeScript code that adheres to team standards
- Participate actively in technical design discussions, providing informed opinions on architecture, UI patterns, and state management
- Identify and fix bugs, address technical debt, and enhance app performance, accessibility, and user experience
- Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback to team members to maintain high code quality
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to refine requirements and ensure alignment with product goals
- Respond to production incidents as part of on-call rotation, contribute to incident resolution, and document learnings
- Share knowledge by documenting work and participating in team discussions to facilitate collective understanding and growth
