About the role
You will join an agile team within the Digital Banking division at JPMorganChase, enhancing, designing, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable software components for state-of-the-art technology products. As an emerging member of the team, you will execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting while gaining skills to advance your career.
Responsibilities
- Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with limited guidance.
- Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language.
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools (e.g., for code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation) to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve value realized by automation.
- Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve problems of basic complexity.
- Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making for secure, stable application development.
- Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for secure, stable code and systems development.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Expertise in Java technologies/frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot and REST-based services.
- Experience with cloud technologies like AWS and messaging frameworks like Kafka, JMS, or MQ.
- Strong proficiency with React.js (modern component patterns, state management, performance, testing).
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
- Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
- Additional exposure to cloud technologies.
