About the role
Torch.AI is seeking candidates who bring creativity to problem-solving, are comfortable working without full clarity, and take responsibility for outcomes. This role involves building a government-owned reasoning infrastructure that enhances machine reasoning at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement modular architectures for data ingestion, orchestration, and governance.
- Create semantic representations and vectorized data for improved machine understanding.
- Develop graph-based fusion and reasoning capabilities to enable real-time decision-making.
- Collaborate with engineers, data experts, veterans, and mission practitioners to deliver impactful solutions.
- Own meaningful work and see systems deployed in production, often within weeks.
Requirements
- Experience with machine learning and data engineering.
- Comfortable working without full clarity and willing to be wrong, adjusting quickly based on feedback.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Active Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI clearance (where required).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering or machine learning.
- Experience with data governance and orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of graph databases and reasoning technologies.
Skills
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience with data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
