About the role

The Software Engineer II, Pipeline Automation & Acceleration at Aurora will design, develop, and validate autonomy software. They will also develop tools for increasing the development speed of building and evaluating autonomy software, tools for introspection, visualization, and performance analysis, and improve the performance of autonomy systems through architectural and algorithmic optimizations. Collaboration with stakeholders including Autonomy Engineers, Test Engineers, Product, Cloud Platform, and Safety is essential for timely delivery of validation data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate onboard and off-board autonomy software.
  • Develop tools for increasing the development speed of building and evaluating autonomy software.
  • Develop tools for introspection, visualization, and performance analysis.
  • Improve the performance of autonomy systems through architectural and algorithmic optimizations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including Autonomy Engineers, Test Engineers, Product, Cloud Platform and Safety to ensure timely delivery of validation data set.

Requirements

  • Experience with cloud automation, data and test automation.
  • Experience with modern programming languages such as Python or C++.
  • Experience with developing in a Linux or Unix environment.
  • Experience with cloud offerings such as AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with cloud storages such as S3, Postgres and Redis.

Qualifications

  • Desirable Qualifications: Experience in Self Driving / Autonomy Driving, Experience in Robotics / Mappings / Motion Planning, Experience in Distributed Systems and Concurrency, Experience in Scaling Data Pipelines through Observability and Traceability, Experience in Event Queues such as Kafka, SQS or SNS, Experience in Cloud Security Concepts such as JWT and mTLS.

Skills

  • Experience with cloud automation, data and test automation.

  • Experience with developing in a Linux or Unix environment.
  • Experience with cloud offerings such as AWS or GCP.

Benefits

Aurora offers a competitive base salary range of $126,000 - $201,000 per year, along with an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits. Aurora operates in a hybrid work environment where employees are required to be in the office at least 3 days per week. Pay

The base salary range for this position is $126,000-$201,000 per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Schedule

Employees are expected to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
