About the Role
Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II to be part of their product development teams. You will support all aspects of a software development life cycle as a member of a multi-disciplined team, including new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements to design, development, integration, test, and maintenance. This role involves solving complex technical system and software integration problems and working closely with Systems Engineers to design solutions with end-user and operational needs in mind.
Responsibilities
- Support all phases of the software development life cycle for military and commercial programs.
- Develop, test, and integrate real-time software applications written in C++.
- Provide creative solutions to complex technical and software integration challenges.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers to design solutions aligned with operational needs.
- Work in lab environments with physical hardware, such as test benches and simulators.
Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in C++ design paradigms on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real-Time Operating Systems.
- Experience developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications in C++.
- Proficiency in computer scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
- Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Top Secret security clearance (required prior to start date).
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in coding using C, C#, Java, or closely related languages.
- Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (e.g., test benches, simulators).
- Ability to navigate and understand complex systems and established code bases.
- Experience with Agile software development processes, particularly Scrum techniques.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $75,800 – $144,200 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
