About the role

As a software engineer you will be working within a team that develops, tests and maintains a suite of data collection, processing, storage and viewing tools supporting the development and testing of infrared sensors and systems. You will have exposure to cutting-edge languages and frameworks within a business leading the innovation in the infrared space.

Responsibilities

  • Software engineering tasks including requirements/user story definition, software application and library design, implementation, integration, verification, validation and maintenance.
  • Adhere to DRS engineering processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years of experience in full stack web development/software engineering.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with at least one of the following languages/frameworks: TypeScript, Python, Go, gRPC, Microservices.
  • Experience with databases including relational and/or non-relational databases.
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git.
  • College-level mathematics (calculus, statistics, linear algebra, etc.).
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new software engineering technologies and methodologies.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and within the framework of a multi-discipline team.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
