Software Engineer II - Full Stack Developer
About the role
You will join an agile Tools Team within JPMorgan Chase Asset & Wealth Management, enhancing, designing, and delivering the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a Software Engineer II, you will execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components while gaining the skills to grow within your role.
Responsibilities
- Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve value realized by automation
- Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
- Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
- Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience
- Hands-on full stack development experience with:
- Java and/or Python
- JavaScript/NodeJS
- Experience in UX/UI design, building modern, user-centered interfaces, and adhering to UI standards and accessibility
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
- Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of AWS Cloud services and Cloud Foundry platforms
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright and Cucumber
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)

Pay
Base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. Eligible roles may receive commission-based pay and/or discretionary incentive compensation.
