About the Role
Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Conducts research in design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing software. Collaborates with equipment designers and hardware engineers in planning, designing, developing, and utilizing electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems containing logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and apply technical standards, principles, and theories.
- Determine computer user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, and programming techniques.
- Prepare operating instructions and design compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensure software standards are met and analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and gather information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
- Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes.
- Coordinate software system installations and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
- Capture and document software design and functionality.
- Participate in multiple simultaneous efforts and familiarize with the full software engineering lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 2-4 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 0-2 years of experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Experience developing solutions with languages and technologies such as Java, C++/C, Python, Go, Linux containers, Kubernetes, and Helm Charts.
- Design and implementation using object-oriented principles and patterns.
Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance or higher (desired).
- Practitioner of Scrum using Test-driven Development.
- Experience building solutions using virtual machines, cloud environments, repositories, databases, specialized hardware, and collaborative or federated technologies.
- Experience developing video or data streaming applications.
- Familiarity with securing an operating system.
- Experience developing or using cross-domain guard technology.
- Knowledge of public-key cryptography.
- Experience developing applications for Microsoft Windows.
Pay
Projected compensation range for this position is $72,826.14 to $126,630.53. Final salary may vary based on factors such as relevant work experience, skills, geographic location, education, certifications, and contract wage determinations.
