Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software components of moderate complexity with the general instruction from senior engineers
  • Drive tasks to completion
  • Leverage well-developed professional and technical expertise to work collaboratively on cross-functional agile teams to deliver high quality software
  • Develop, enhance, and sustain software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices
  • Build defined features, investigate, and fix bugs, and write tests related to software components of moderate complexity with limited instructions for new projects and work provided by leadership
  • Initiate independent software design with guidance from others
  • Participate in reviewing design alternatives, problems, and solutions
  • Communicate status updates on individual project-based assignments to the project team
  • Provide professional advice on decisions or actions that may impact the outcome of a task or workflow of the team/work group
  • Build productive internal collaborative partnerships with peers, SMEs, and decision-makers
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Able to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering; or High School Diploma/General Education Degree and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience developing software with object-oriented code
  • RESTful web services, Relational Databases (Postgres, SQL Server), and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate, Entities Framework)
  • Designing and developing apps that access and or utilize cloud-based frameworks (e.g., Azure, Amazon AWS Services/SDKs, etc.)
  • Agile development tools; including, but not limited to, JIRA, Confluence repository

Qualifications

  • Basic theories, skills, and practices to accomplish work assignments of low to medium complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Skills

  • Next Generation Sequencing data analysis tools and workflows
  • Experience reading and writing object-oriented languages, such as Python, Java, Google Web Toolkit, .NET, or C++

Pay

The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
