About the role
The Software Engineer I will contribute to the development, testing, and operation of shared platform services that power critical workflows across StubHub. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining impactful improvements that span the frontend and backend code across all StubHub's platforms and products.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain platform services that enhance reliability, scalability, and event-driven services.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices across the codebase.
- Manage individual initiative priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with technical expertise.
Requirements
- Recent graduate or software engineer with up to ~1 year of experience (including internships, co-ops, or substantial academic projects).
- Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, and core programming concepts).
- Basic experience building user-facing applications and/or consuming APIs.
- Exposure to LLMs or GenAI tools (coursework, internships, hackathons, or side projects)—bonus if you've used frameworks or platforms like Anthropic or ChatGPT in something you built.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
- Preferred: Familiarity with streaming platforms (Kafka, Flink, etc.), storage solutions (Cassandra, Redis, etc.), and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.).
Skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- Understanding of software development methodologies and agile practices.

Pay
The anticipated gross base pay range for this role is $120,000—$150,000 USD. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies.
