Software Engineer, Ground Systems

The Role We’re hiring a Software Engineer to develop the software that connects, operates, and scales our ground network. This role sits at the intersection of software, networking, and cloud infrastructure. You will build distributed services that connect ground stations, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing systems, while helping ensure the network remains reliable, observable, and scalable as it grows. Responsibilities Design, develop, and operate software that supports AnySignal’s ground network across cloud and edge environmentsBuild backend services and APIs used to operate and manage the software and hardware that delivers data from ground stations to customersDeploy and operate containerized services using KubernetesBuild software that analyzes and optimizes links between spacecraft and the groundWrite software that handles configuration and data handling for a variety of ground radiosBuild and maintain logging, monitoring, and observability infrastructure across the fleetTroubleshoot software, networking, and infrastructure issues across cloud and deployed hardware environmentsContribute to system architecture as the ground network scales across additional stations and infrastructureWork cross-functionally with ground hardware, RF, space software, and other engineering teams What We're Looking For Must-Haves: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical fieldStrong software engineering experience in Python, Go, or a similar programming languageStrong experience developing and operating software on LinuxExperience building backend services, APIs, or distributed systemsExperience developing and operating software in AWS or similar cloud environmentsStrong understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols, including TCP/IPExperience troubleshooting network connectivity and distributed software systemsExperience with logging, monitoring, observability, and production software reliabilityExperience with automated testing and software validationAbility to work independently and take ownership in a fast-moving engineering environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience deploying and operating containerized applications using KubernetesExperience with satellite ground systems, satellite communications, or telecommunications infrastructureExperience developing software deployed across both cloud and edge environmentsExperience with scheduling, orchestration, or resource-management systemsExperience developing software that interfaces with or operates physical infrastructureUnderstanding of electrical, RF, networking, or communications systemsExperience working in an early-stage or high-growth engineering environment Compensation The estimated base salary range for this role is $130,000-$200,000 per year, plus equity. This range reflects our good-faith estimate for this position at the time of posting. The final base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base salary and equity, AnySignal offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) program, competitive paid time off, and paid parental leave.
