Software Engineer, Front End Developer (Experienced or Senior)

About the role

The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineer, Front End Developer (Experienced or Senior) to join the Space Mission Systems (SMS) Rapid Space Capabilities (RSC) portfolio. This role focuses on Front End software for the Rocky program in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and analyses of user interfaces of software systems.
• Partner with appropriate stakeholders to oversee translation of software requirements and models that meet customer, operational and performance requirements.
• Lead completion of software system-level analyses to identify risk, issues and opportunities.
• Lead software engineers to successfully complete code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards.
• Lead review of product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards.
• Research and oversee implementation of current and emerging software technologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g. development, design, review preparation, customer coordination, closed area development, etc.).

Requirements

• Active Top Secret (TS) US Security Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI eligibility post-start.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of experience in foundational Computer Science knowledge and object-oriented design and software patterns.
• Experience developing Frontend user interfaces using Astro UX.
• 3+ years of experience with Front End software languages, frameworks, and libraries (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript, REACT, and API integration, etc.).

Qualifications

• 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Level 3 / Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience.
• Level 4 / Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience.
• 13+ years of related, relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance.
• Experience with Software Engineering principles including, but not limited to, Software Configuration Management, Software Architecture and Design, and Software Life Cycle Management.
• Experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python, JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery UI, Open Layers, etc.), Spring Framework, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, REST, and OpenAPI.
• Experience with dependency management and automation services (e.g. Ivy, Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins, etc.).
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD management.
• Experience with front end software for one or more of the following: control systems, embedded FPGA, low latency deterministic, operator interfaces, and/or control gimbals, ground antennas, optical sensors.
