About the Role
Enterprise Engineering at Whatnot supports the needs of our largest and most complex sellers. As sellers grow their businesses on our platform, their needs evolve, and this team builds the systems and tooling to support them at scale. We're looking for a software engineer to operate at the intersection of engineering and customer success, working directly with enterprise sellers and their technical teams to design, implement, and support custom integrations on top of Whatnot’s APIs and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with enterprise sellers and their engineering teams to architect and implement bespoke integrations leveraging Whatnot’s APIs and platform capabilities.
- Act as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams, translating seller needs into scalable solutions while collaborating with engineering, product, and account management stakeholders.
- Build durable tooling, workflows, and support infrastructure to scale enterprise onboarding, integration support, and long-term customer success.
- Write code focused on developing scalable integration solutions and internal operational tooling.
- Solve complex post-sale technical challenges while helping define how Whatnot supports enterprise commerce moving forward.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work directly with customers, manage expectations, and align with internal company standards and goals.
- Comfort in running technical conversations with external engineering teams, identifying real requirements, and saying no when necessary.
- Flexibility to work across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, and data synchronization.
- Track record of automating repetitive tasks and workflows.
- Ability to take ownership of ambiguous areas, define them, and drive impact.
Qualifications
- Experience with e-commerce or operational systems (Shopify, ChannelAdvisor, Magento, NetSuite, ShipStation, WMS/ERP platforms) is a plus.

Pay
Compensation Range: $170K - $230K
Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Seattle hub. We offer flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs.
