Software Engineer (Distributed Systems & Cloud) with Security Clearance

About the role

Visionist is seeking a Software Engineer (Distributed Systems & Cloud) for a fully funded opportunity on a prestigious prime contract. The role involves developing and maintaining large-scale, distributed web applications, architecting scalable microservices, and integrating engineering best practices into offensive cyber and vulnerability research projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain large-scale, distributed web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python
• Arcitect scalable microservices and backend systems that support high-performance data processing and communication
• Utilize DevOps automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaaS) to deploy and manage services in commercial cloud environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery of secure, reliable software
• Collaborate with security researchers to integrate engineering best practices into offensive cyber and vulnerability research projects
• Partner with users and analysts to enhance tooling and expand mission capabilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
• (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
• 8 years of experience in software development
• Experience developing applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems and enterprise-grade web applications
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), DevOps practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, including version control, automated testing, and agile development methodologies
• Experience with high-side development environments and non-attributed network configurations
