About the role
Jill, our AI Recruiter, is recruiting for this position on behalf of Basic Capital, a $25M Series A fintech company in SoHo, NYC, backed by Lux Capital and Forerunner Ventures.
Responsibilities
- Design and build core trading, financing, and fund management systems that orchestrate and reconcile complex flows of funds with high reliability.
- Architect and implement event-driven backend systems and asynchronous workflows using tools like Kotlin, Temporal, and modern cloud infrastructure.
- Participate in high-level architecture discussions and code reviews, maintaining complete ownership of mission-critical transaction systems from design to production.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building distributed, high-reliability backend systems and event-driven architectures using languages like Kotlin, Go, or Rust.
- Strong expertise in relational databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), with a focus on correctness and system reliability.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-agency environment and is excited to work in-office in SoHo to solve complex social and financial problems.
Qualifications
- Experience with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
- Knowledge of Kotlin, Go, or Rust.
- Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous workflows.
