Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Backend Engineer specializing in web-hosted services to develop and enhance backend architectures, including APIs, server-side logic, and data management systems. The role involves scaling web services that analyze and contextualize networks, collaborating on new feature development, integrating data sources, and improving analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and version the web stack and codebase
• Shape operational deployment for government and industry users
• Collaborate on data source integration and scalable solutions
• Partner on cloudification, containerization, and application productization
• Review solutions to ensure maintainability and extensibility

Requirements

• 2+ years (with an advanced degree) or 4+ years (with a bachelor’s) of experience in backend or full-stack development
• 3-5 years of backend experience with object-oriented languages like Golang or Python
• Proficiency in database systems (SQL/NoSQL), testing, packaging, and requirements management
• Eligibility for security clearances up to TS/SCI

Skills

• Experience with APIs, open-source projects, Linux/Mac, Docker, and cloud services (nice-to-have)
• Experience with team collaboration tools (nice-to-have)
