  • Solid experience with relational databases and SQL; experience with Oracle and PL/SQL is preferred
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and source control, using tools such as Git or Bitbucket, Maven, and Jenkins
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban) and using tools such as Jira
  • Basic understanding of application security concepts, including authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth, JWT)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and business teams

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with messaging or integration technologies such as MQ or Kafka
  • Exposure to web technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and JSON
  • Experience working with SOAP services in addition to REST APIs

  • Experience with UI or end-to-end testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma
  • Experience improving monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support practices
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with backend engineering best practices
  • Ability to resolve technical disagreements constructively and contribute to a transparent, collaborative team culture
