Steel Dynamics Software Engineer performing a variety of tasks including analyzing, developing, testing, and deploying, and supporting software for the business Reviews, Analyzes, and modifies software applications including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and installingGathers Software Requirements through user engagementDocuments Software RequirementsCarries out assigned programming tasksProvides User Support of software applications (including bug fixes, report writing, data alteration, etc).Design and Develop Database Schema’sWorks effectively with a team of developersWork in programming pairs for some projects Required An understanding of software development practices, enterprise development languages (such as C#), and Business Analysis.Familiar with AGILE processes such as SCRUMProficient in .NET Framework and Web Development (C#, .NET CORE, Angular)A working understanding of object-oriented programming and designA working understanding SQL DDL/DML (Transact SQL and PL/SQL)Possess an understanding of database normalizationAn understanding of writing technical documentation (i.e. requirements, specifications, design documents, user manuals, etc.)Possess strong communications, organization, and planning skillsWillingness to learn new development languages and toolsGeneral Programming AptitudeBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems / or related field Preferred Understands the SOLID principlesTest Driven Development experienceFamiliarity with the principles of Clean Code Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
