Software Engineer

The platform addresses the challenge of managing regulatory compliance and operational reliability for autonomous technology operators by maintaining and enhancing a full-stack application used in this specialized sector.
About the Opportunity
The Software Engineer role is focused on supporting and advancing an existing production platform. This position involves maintaining the codebase, resolving technical issues, and delivering new features through defined projects. The engineer will collaborate with the team to improve system reliability and functionality, directly contributing to the platform's support of compliance workflows.
Responsibilities
- Address maintenance backlog items including bug fixes, performance improvements, dependency updates, and infrastructure upkeep.
- Develop and implement new features using TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS.
- Build and maintain workflows that facilitate regulatory compliance for autonomous technology operators.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools, reviewing and validating generated code changes.
- Write clean, documented code with small, reviewable commits and pull requests.
- Identify and report potential security or reliability issues related to AI-driven functionality.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to complete development tasks within the existing production codebase.
- Support application stability, performance, and reliability.
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Professional experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
- Experience deploying applications on AWS using infrastructure-as-code tools like CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Proficient with Git and GitHub, including creating clean pull requests and managing commit history.
- Experience contributing to and maintaining an existing production codebase.
- Experience using AI coding tools with the ability to understand, validate, and explain generated code.
- Working knowledge of language models, including capabilities, limitations, and security aspects.
- Preferred experience in aviation, defense, or other regulated industries.
- Preferred customer-facing experience.
Pay
- Competitive base salary of $95,000–$120,000, depending on experience.
- Equity opportunity.
