Software Engineer

About the role

At Prince Technologies, you’ll develop software that directly impacts healthcare and research. You’ll collaborate with colleagues from development, engineering, production, service, and quality control to create high-quality medical devices and laboratory instruments. Your work won’t just be behind a screen—you’ll also engage closely with the product, contributing to how instruments function, testing software in practice, and implementing improvements.

You’ll design, develop, test, and document software for high-tech medical equipment and laboratory instruments built in Emmen. These instruments use capillary electrophoresis to separate and measure substances in small fluid samples, such as blood or urine, enabling accurate laboratory results. Your code will have a tangible impact, as you’ll see its effects in test setups, instrument behavior, and real-world performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and document software for medical devices and laboratory instruments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, engineering, production, service, and quality control).
• Contribute to the functionality of instruments, including testing software in practice and implementing improvements.
• Work with capillary electrophoresis technology to ensure reliable and accurate test results.

Requirements

• Knowledge of or affinity with our tech stack:
  • Embedded: C, STM32, CAN-bus, and FreeRTOS
  • Backend: Python, FastAPI, and RESTful APIs
  • Linux and version control: Buildroot Linux and SVN
  • Web interface: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Testing: Unit tests, integration tests, and embedded test frameworks
• Analytical thinking and precision in your work.
• Interest in embedded systems and full-stack development.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
