Software Engineer

Job Summary

The Software Engineer will build the platform that runs American factories, using TypeScript, NestJS, Next.js, React, and Supabase. Key responsibilities include owning features across the stack, building core systems, integrating software with factory equipment, and understanding and solving real-world manufacturing problems.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end across the stack, from database schema to the screen
• Build and extend core systems such as the factory command platform, nesting and quoting engine, customer portal, and inventory and demand intelligence
• Wire software directly into saws, automation, and shop floor hardware
• Transform messy real-world operations into clean, self-running systems
• Aggressively use AI tooling to ship more in a day than most engineers ship in a week
• Spent real-time on the factory floor to understand the problems being solved
• Tackle big, ambiguous problems and deliver results without being told how

Requirements

• High agency and ability to own large items alone while asking for help when needed
• Fast-paced, feeling urgency and moving with it
• Organized enough to keep multiple moving pieces straight at once
• Raw smart, capable of picking up new domains quickly
• Crack with AI tools and always finding new ways to push them further
• Low ego and focused on the customer
• Always taking work off other people's plates and never saying "that's not my job"
• Bringing new ideas, often from outside the world of metals and manufacturing
• Mission-driven, someone who could see themselves building this for the next 30 years
• Willing to work outside normal hours to pursue the mission

Qualifications

• Experience with TypeScript, NestJS, Next.js, React, and Supabase
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take big, ambiguous problems to completion
• Experience integrating software with factory equipment and systems
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and operations
• Ability to transform messy real-world operations into clean, self-running systems
• Experience with AI tooling and its applications in software development
• Experience working on the factory floor to understand the problems being solved
