Software Engineer, AI Platform, Vehicle Software
The Integration Platforms team at Tesla develops technology to support our expanding customer fleet, focusing on an AI-first strategy to transform engineering workflows. Key responsibilities include:
Design and development of AI agents to automate engineering workflows and orchestrate them from prototype to production.
End-to-end delivery of full-stack tools: front-end UI/UX, back-end frameworks and APIs, and data/caching architecture supporting real-time querying and streaming.
Shape overall system architecture, including interfaces between subsystems, and make technical tradeoffs for scaling.
Evolve our AI platform and MCP servers to enable AI-assisted development across the organization.
Drive the full lifecycle of software, covering DevOps, product security, and validation, while collaborating cross-functionally to address workflow bottlenecks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Proficient in Go and Python, with hands-on experience building full-stack applications using web frameworks.
Experience with backend infrastructure: relational databases, containerization, workflow orchestration, and stream processing/messaging systems.
Strong communicator and collaborator with experience in a fast-paced environment managing multiple concurrent projects.
Qualifications
Exposure to large-scale data processing/querying and analytics.
Understanding of AI agent architectures and tool-use patterns such as MCP/ACP.
Skills
Building LLM-powered applications.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $140,000 - $360,000 annually, with details of the benefits package provided upon offer.
