Responsibilities

  • Apply agentic workflows across the SDLC — refactoring, test generation, debugging, documentation, codebase navigation — and help evolve the team’s AI-Native engineering practices in the process.
  • Own features end-to-end through production — monitor what you ship and use data to validate your assumptions.
  • Drive technical decisions and architectural direction for your area of ownership; the code you ship sets the standard for the team.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and stakeholders to align on scope, priorities, technical tradeoffs, and delivery timelines.
  • Identify, design, and develop features and functionality within applications for deployment to web, iOS, and Android.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally consumer-facing and content-driven web or mobile applications.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs and AI coding assistants.
  • Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and context window management.
  • Track record of using AI tooling to multiply your own output — not just as autocomplete, but as a genuine development partner.
  • Shipped production cross-platform mobile applications to both the iOS App Store and Google Play.
  • Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle.
  • Experienced with performance tuning and optimization techniques for both front-end and backend systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Genuine excitement for helping define what AI-Native engineering means at Age of Learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree or related subject.
  • Experience with MCP, function calling, or tool-using agents.
  • Experience with Svelte or SvelteKit.
  • Familiar with software design paradigms and design patterns.
  • Experience working in an Agile development framework.
  • Educational and/or game development experience.

The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is below. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

  • Total Compensation: $160,000 USD - $180,000 USD
