About the Role

Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs. They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle, including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality, and deploying the software. This role encompasses full-stack software engineering, covering both user interface and server-side development.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to deeply understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements, advocating for user-centric software solutions.
• Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering software using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies (e.g., Agile), and technologies.
• Assess software application or service requirements to determine the most suitable technology stack, integration method, and deployment strategy.
• Create high-level software architecture designs outlining the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and architects.
• Define and implement software test strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes aligned with organizational vision, industry regulations, and market best practices.
• Continuously improve performance, optimize applications, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Support security practices to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
• Develop user-friendly and interactive interfaces.
• Develop and maintain back-end applications, such as APIs and microservices, using server-side languages.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver solutions, often involving industry collaboration.
• Define, design, and ship new features using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Angular, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub), GCP, APIs, and TDD.
• Collaborate and communicate clearly with Product Managers, Product Owners, and UI/UX designers during development and support of application features.
• Perform technical design, coding with test automation, support, and documentation of software application modifications.
• Ensure quality code delivery through high standards, continuous integration, development, and testing.
• Develop test plans, execute tests, and manage continuous releases.
• Lead the engineering, development, and coding of complex solutions enabling critical connected consumer and vehicle features.
• Deliver software craftsmanship principles in projects and share successful implementations.
• Develop tools and processes to automate the delivery of new features and capabilities while eliminating waste.
• Lead software engineers to understand platform vision, break out tasks, and help solve challenging issues.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in IT; 4+ years in software development.
• Engineer 3 level: Practical experience in 2 coding languages or advanced practical experience in 1 language.
