Software Engineer 2 (Mission Application Dev & Int) with Security Clearance

About the role

The Software Engineer will develop, sustain, and troubleshoot GHOSTGEMs software suite of applications including DINO and potentially future capabilities as mission needs arise. Responsibilities include implementation, testing, and integration with other COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries.

Responsibilities

• Develop, sustain, and troubleshoot GHOSTGEMs software suite of applications including DINO and potentially future capabilities as mission needs arise.
• Implement, test, and integrate with other COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries.
• Use the Linux CLI and develop Bash scripts to automate manual processes.
• Work with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog, and Message Brokers such as Kafka.
• Work with IaC principles and automation tools including Ansible, and CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
• Work with Git Source Control System.

Requirements

• Master's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• OR Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• OR Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Qualifications

• Experience using the Linux CLI.
• Experience using Linux tools and developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes.
• Recent software development experience using Python.
• Willingness to learn Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation tools.
• Familiar interfacing with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog.
• Familiar Message Brokers such as Kafka.
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools including Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
• Experience with Git Source Control System.

Skills

• Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL.
• Experience with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with Rust programming concepts, or a willingness and aptitude to learn Rust.
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence.

$170 - $190K
