Software Engineer 2 with Security Clearance

About the role

Weeghman & Briggs is seeking a motivated and mission-driven Software Engineer 2 to support critical government initiatives in Columbia, MD.

Responsibilities

• Support mission-critical programs in secure government environments
• Analyze requirements and translate them into actionable solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results
• Ensure compliance with contract and security standards
• Contribute ideas to improve processes, efficiency, and performance
• Modernize applications and develop new features
• Perform software improvements and bug fixes
• Implement a CI/CD pipeline
• Deploy and test software
• Create infrastructure through code
• Perform service migrations

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI FS
• Experience supporting government or DoD programs
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Git/Gitlab
• Experience in web application development
• Experience with docker containers and orchestration technology such as Kubernetes or Docker-compose
• 14 years with a bachelor's degree in computer science (or related field) or 18 years without the degree

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science (or related field) or 18 years of relevant experience. Experience supporting government or DoD programs is highly desirable.

Pay

The projected salary range for this position is $195,000-$217,000, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and contract requirements.
