About the role
The role involves enhancing and supporting corporate credit card banking systems through the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of software experiences. It requires a strong foundation in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud API development, along with experience in microservices, APIs, and DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products
- Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
- Performs analysis on failures, proposes design changes, and encourages operational improvements
- Makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront
- Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
- Ensures all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
- Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation
- Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation
Requirements
This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, with three to five years of relevant experience. Expert level of Java 8 and 21, strong experience in Spring Boot and other Java frameworks/libraries and Cloud API development, and deep understanding of the microservices, APIs, Junits, Mockito, DevOps, and CI/CD are preferred.

- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD: understanding and experience of setting them up, Kubernetes

- Database experience: relational and non-relational
- Experience working with architecture diagrams and tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience of working with contractors and/or offshore engineers
- Staying on top of the modern technology and tools (Copilot & AI tools)
- Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
