Software Development Senior Manager (OCI)

About the role

The person in this role will get a lot done on a daily basis, grow and develop the team and roadmap, drive execution of features and projects, and own feature design.

Responsibilities

• Apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, distributed systems, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications
• Own and build a highly available OCI service
• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a dedicated software development team
• Drive the execution and delivery of service roadmap, ensuring projects are completed with the highest quality and within specified timelines
• Engage in hands-on management, including addressing customer issues, managing escalations, and deploying code aligned with change management procedures
• Maintain and enhance technical depth in software development practices and architectural design
• Lead the team in Agile development methodologies in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of people-management experience managing engineers in software development environment
• 7+ years’ experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems, preferably as a service owner
• 3+ years of experience leading in large-scale organizations with multiple layers of management
• Strong knowledge of Java, GoLang, C++ or C and experience with scripting languages such as Python
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
• Working familiarity with cloud infrastructure, storage protocols and standard network architectures
• Strong understanding of databases, storage and distributed persistence technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Experience building scalable, cloud native distributed systems

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, 5+ years of people-management experience, 7+ years’ experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems, 3+ years of experience leading in large-scale organizations with multiple layers of management, strong knowledge of Java, GoLang, C++ or C and experience with scripting languages such as Python, strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals, working familiarity with cloud infrastructure, storage protocols and standard network architectures, strong understanding of databases, storage and distributed persistence technologies, strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills, experience building scalable, cloud native distributed systems
• Preferred qualifications: Experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP or OCI), experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure, cloud marketplaces domain

Pay

Hiring Range in USD from: $133,100 - $306,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

This is not a remote position. The person in this role will be based in Nashville-TN and relocation assistance is provided.
