Senior Principal Software Developer (OCI Health Infrastructure)

Responsibilities

• Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications.
• Perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate modern, cloud-native, AI-first platform services.
• Partner with SREs, release managers, security/compliance owners, backend/database teams, and support escalation teams to drive safe operational outcomes.
• Define configuration and implementation best practices.
• Specify, design, and implement changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
• Provide technical leadership to other software developers.
• Work across teams to engineer the best system (for operations and customers) regardless of organizational boundaries or ownership.
• Scale our systems by building tooling and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, application development or related field or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to write code in Java or similar OO languages
• Experience building automated and AI-first solutions
• Proficient with data structures, algorithms, operating systems
• Familiarity with CAP theorem, Consensus, messaging, High Availability etc.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Experience operating production systems with change management, incident management, runbooks, approvals, audit/evidence, and security controls
• Strong written and verbal communication skills during incidents, maintenance windows, and cross-team handoffs
